Welcome to Stemnode!

Mission

To compile knowledge on natural and human made systems and enable people to work together in creating better systems for the future.

About

Stemnode is two complimentary websites; Stemnode.org and wiki.stemnode.org . Stemnode.org provides systems of systems diagrams to break down the complexity of science and technology. Each node in Stemnode.org represents a system. Each node can also link to a page on wiki.stemnode.org. In this way the nodes serve to reduce redundant content by setting the boundaries of what each review should cover.

Stemnode was made by graduate students for graduate students to share and build on each other's literature reviews. Graduate students in STEM in the United States alone produce literature reviews that exceed the size of English Wikipedia every two years (Citation). Imagine if we combined our work and built on each other's work; we can progress science faster, get knowledge outside the paywall...and maybe graduate sooner.

Stemnode.org diagrams are composed of three primary components; nodes, ports, and flows. There are two types of nodes; circular nodes represent systems that convert inputs into outputs, and square nodes represent storage
